Whether you’re looking to get into pigs, poultry or eggs; or wanting to build your career in the sectors, the Fair is a great opportunity to connect with people, organisations and businesses. But, knowing where to begin can be hard, so we have created this quick guide to make you feel at home and give you some ideas of where to start.
Looking for a role in the sector? Companies worth a visit at the Fair
The pig, poultry and egg sectors offer a wide range of careers, from hands-on production to technical, commercial and advisory roles. The Fair is one of the few places you can explore all of it in one visit.
Many exhibitors are actively recruiting or developing new talent through graduate programmes and apprenticeships, or have roles available within their organisation.

The organisations shaping the sector
If you are looking for membership organisations or simply want to understand how the sectors fit together—these are the organisations are a great starting point. They represent producers, shape policy, provide guidance and can point you in the right direction:
- AHDB – Stand 20-740 AHDB is levy funded and provides insights, training, marketing, and export development to help the pig industry remain competitive, sustainable, and profitable.
- British Egg Industry Council – Stand 20-122 BEIC represents the UK egg industry politically; administers the British Lion assurance scheme; and promotes eggs through marketing campaigns run by the British Egg Information Service.
- British Free Range Egg Producers Association – Stand 6-431 BFREPA represents free-range egg producers across the UK. If you are thinking of becoming a free range egg producer visit their stand to see what they have to offer you.
- British Poultry Council – Stand 6-661 The BPC represents the UK’s poultrymeat industry, covering chicken, turkey, duck, and goose production. It addresses breeding, processing, and welfare, advocating for transparency and high standards.
- National Pig Association – Stand 20-742 The NPA is the single voice of the British pig sector and is the representative trade association for commercial pig producers. The NPA lobby on behalf of their pig farmer members throughout Government, the supply chain and wider industry.
- National Farmers Union – Stand 6-660 The NFU is the voice of British farming, representing over 43,000 farm business members across England and Wales, and campaigning on the interests of the UK food and farming industry.
- British Pig Association – Stand 20-925 The BPA maintains official herd books for British UK pedigree pigs, safeguarding breed integrity, supporting breeders, and promoting conservation and development while ensuring traceability and high standards for future generations.
- Department For Environment Farming and Rural Affairs – Stand 20-970 Defra is the Government department responsible for agriculture policy, funding, and regulation. Defra staff will be on the stand to discuss and assist with new and future schemes and grants.
Attend a free forum for insights on the road ahead
The forum theatres are a valuable place to hear from key people working across the industry. The Fair hosts three theatres – the Pig Theatre, Poultry Theatre and the Innovation Theatre.
