Chris Maxwell, Team Leader Animal Health, DEFRA.

Chris is an experienced policymaker with over 18 years’ experience of working in government. He’s spent the last 7 years working on Defra’s Animal Health and Welfare Pathway, since its inception. In this time he’s worked on the Agriculture Act, the Annual Health and Welfare Review and for the last three years has focused on co-design and delivery of the endemic disease programmes that follow on from the Review. Having worked with the farming sector from the outset of the Pathway, Chris has worked to develop and deliver programmes of support that will make a difference to animal health and to farmers across England.
