Ryan Dakin, Free Range Egg Producer, NFU Poultry Board (Thurs)

I have lived and breathed farming since I was born, growing up on my third-generation family farm in Cheshire. After completing my degree in Agriculture & Business Management, I was inspired to step away from Dairy farming to enter into the world of poultry. I spearheaded a move to free range egg production with 32,000 hens in a multi-tier system. Now, with our fifth flock, we’ve never looked back! I have embraced life as a poultry farmer and have always been keen to meet others within the sector, taking part in the NFU Poultry Industry Programme. I now proudly sit on the NFU Poultry Board where I am keen to be the voice for other new entrants and, importantly, for the grass roots producers. Over the years, I have learnt a lot about egg production and thrive when sharing and learning from others.
