Martin Jenkins, DEFRA policy lead

Martin Jenkins leads the development of future farming policy to improve the health and welfare of farmed animals in England; the enforcement of animal health and welfare standards; and oversees the secretariat for the Animal Health and Welfare Board for England, who are "the principal source of departmental advice to Defra ministers on all strategic health and welfare matters relating to all kept animals in England.” Martin is a management professional and a Prince 2 Practitioner. He has held several leadership roles both within Defra and in the private sector.
