David Neilson, Agriculture and Commercial Director, Avara Foods (Wed)

David Neilson is the Agriculture and Commercial Director at Avara foods. He has worked in the industry for 30 years since leaving University with a BSC in Environmental Technology. His first job was as a 16-year-old working in a turkey factory packing turkeys at Christmas. When he graduated, he got a job working on a turkey breeder farm and here he figured out what he wanted to do for a career. After 2 years he got promoted to farm manager. He has done most roles in agriculture over the years. David has recently also taken on responsibility for Avara's turkey business and commercial sales. David is member of the Management board at the BPC and is a director of Assured Food Standards (Red Tractor).
