David Brass – Lakes Free Range Egg Company

David Brass is the CEO of The Lakes Free Range Egg Company and the recipient of the 2024 RASE Farm of the Future Award, 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development and the 2026 McDonald’s Sustainability Award. A former RAF pilot who returned to his family’s Cumbrian farm in 1989, David has spent over 25 years pioneering range enrichment and welfare-led production. He has developed industry-leading state-of-the-art facilities with a minimal carbon footprint, utilising advanced data monitoring and innovative building designs. David is a passionate advocate for the principle that environmental excellence and commercial viability go hand in hand.
