Mark Haighton, Pig Procurement, Karro Food Group.

Mark has worked in the UK pig processing sector since 1998 when he started at Geo Adams & Sons Ltd in Spalding, initially as a livestock buyer, before the company was bought out by Tulip and subsequently Pilgrim’s UK. Since January 2024 he has been part of the Sofina Foods Pig Procurement team, based in Malton, North Yorks. Throughout his 26yr career in the industry, Mark has worked across the entire supply chain working closely with farmers, processing factories and discerning retailers to drive the quality and sales of British pork and to promote its reputation both in the UK and overseas. Between 2010 & 2023 Mark sat on the Red Tractor Pig Sector board and has recently finished his 6 year term on the AHDB Pig Sector council helping to represent the interests of the UK processor and producer in the ever-changing world of legislative and consumer requirements.
