BASF returns to Pig & Poultry Fair to launch its new rodenticide, Selontra®, to the rural market

Leading pest control solutions company, BASF, is set to return to Pig and Poultry Fair this May, bringing its portfolio of innovative solutions to the rural industry.

The BASF team will introduce its award-winning cholecalciferol rodenticide, Selontra®, offering farm businesses a unique solution to solve their rodent problems.

Since launching to the professional pest control market in November 2020, Selontra® has been awarded the Pest Best Product award, having been hailed for controlling infestations in as few as seven days thanks to its high performance, highly palatable, and non-anticoagulant formulation.

The stand will also showcase BASF’s full range of products for the rural industry on the stand, including its range of popular rodenticides Neosorexa® Gold and Storm® Ultra, and the DEFRA-approved disinfectant Sorgene® Xtra, which is highly effective in helping to stop the spread of diseases like avian influenza.

The event coincides with the relaunch of BASF’s rural rodent control and awareness training programme, which will be delivered throughout 2022 in partnership with experienced industry instructor, Oliver Madge, and aims to increase good stewardship and best practice of pest management in rural environments.

The BASF team will be joined on the stand by Oliver, who will be on hand to discuss any rodenticide queries or issues with attendees.  Visitors will also be able to learn about the Selontra® training course on the stand as well as register their interest in attending the full CRRU-recognised course.

Available to all farmers, the course covers everything from preventing infestations and identifying problem areas around the farm, to baiting best practice and how to take control of rodents quickly and cost effectively. Following the training, participants will take a BASIS exam, which is the ongoing requirement for those looking to purchase larger quantities of rodenticides.
